About WebDevEmpire

WebDevEmpire is an indie incremental game inspired by web development, software architecture, and the realities of running a digital product. The objective of the game is to grow a virtual web agency by hiring developers, upgrading infrastructure, and balancing operational costs while traffic and income scale over time.

The project is developed as a personal hobby by a professional web developer and serves both as a creative outlet and a technical experiment. It combines economic simulation, progression systems, and interface design within a browser-based environment.

Project Status

WebDevEmpire is currently in an early alpha stage. Core mechanics are implemented, but many planned systems—such as prestige layers, deeper automation, and long-term progression loops—are still under active development.

Balance changes, UI refinements, and new gameplay features are introduced iteratively as feedback is gathered and systems mature.

Design Philosophy

The goal of WebDevEmpire is to create an incremental game that reflects the structure and challenges of real-world software development. Instead of focusing on rapid clicking or flashy visuals, the game emphasizes planning, specialization, and sustainable growth.

Concepts such as developer roles, infrastructure limits, operational expenses, and scaling inefficiencies are central to the experience. Progress is driven by strategic decisions rather than short-term optimization alone.
